When to leave for Heathrow
Plan to arrive two hours before a short-haul flight and three hours before long-haul, unless your airline says otherwise. Add the drive time from the tables above and a margin for the time of day. From central London, the run out along the M4 or A4 is slowest on weekday mornings and Friday afternoons.
