Our London City Airport meet and greet means your driver is standing inside the arrivals hall with your name on a board when you come through. Fares are fixed when you book, from £39.90 to Canary Wharf and £58.49 to King’s Cross in a saloon. We track your flight, so a delay doesn’t cost you anything extra.
How the Pick Up Works at London City
London City Airport has one terminal and a single arrivals hall, so there’s only one place to meet. Here’s what happens on the day:
- We follow your flight number from the moment you book, and your driver’s arrival time moves with any change to your landing time.
- Your driver parks and walks into the arrivals hall before you land.
- When you come out of customs, look for your name on the board. Your driver helps with your bags and walks you to the car.
- You have 60 minutes of free waiting from the time your flight actually lands, which covers passport control and baggage reclaim.
Your driver’s name and phone number come with your booking, so if you can’t see them, you can call straight away.

Who Books a Meet and Greet at City Airport?
London City is mainly a business airport, and many arrivals are heading to Canary Wharf, the City or the West End. For them, the main benefit is not having to think about the last part of the trip. Families and first-time visitors book for a different reason: London City sits in the Royal Docks, and getting to a hotel by DLR and tube with suitcases usually means at least one change. A driver who meets you inside and takes you door to door solves both.
If you’re met at the airport by a client or colleague, we can put their name or your company name on the board instead. Add it in the booking notes.
Choosing the Car
A saloon takes four passengers and two suitcases. Business travellers often pick the Executive class, which seats three and takes two cases. For families or small groups, the MPV seats six with four cases, and the 8-seater takes eight people and eight cases. To Liverpool Street, the 8-seater costs £65.17, cheaper than booking two saloons.
Late Flights and Delays
London City has an evening wave of arrivals from European business routes, and some of these run late. Because we track the flight, your driver doesn’t turn up at the scheduled time and leave. They work to the actual landing time, and your 60 minutes of free waiting starts from then. The fare is the same whatever time you land.
Going On to Another Airport?
If you’re connecting at another London airport, we can take you straight there from City Airport. See London City Airport to Heathrow, London City Airport to Gatwick and London City Airport to Stansted for fares and timings.

More Pick Up Fares from London City Airport
These extra fares were quoted from our online booker on 29 October 2026, also for a midday pickup on a weekday:
| London City Airport to | Distance | Saloon | Executive | 8-seater |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ExCeL London | 1.5 miles | £34.62 | £50.21 | £45.69 |
| Greenwich (Cutty Sark) | 4.8 miles | £43.51 | £60.29 | £56.68 |
| Tower of London | 6.1 miles | £45.31 | £62.39 | £58.97 |
| Shoreditch | 7.5 miles | £51.66 | £69.49 | £66.71 |
| Westminster | 8.6 miles | £53.17 | £71.25 | £68.63 |
| Bond Street (Mayfair) | 9.5 miles | £58.41 | £77.10 | £75.01 |
| South Kensington | 11.1 miles | £63.04 | £82.33 | £80.72 |
Our fares are worked out from distance and drive time, so the West End and Kensington cost more than the City and Docklands, even though they’re only a few miles further. Central London fares include the Congestion Charge.
ExCeL and the Royal Docks
London City Airport and ExCeL London are both in the Royal Docks, about a mile and a half apart. A saloon to ExCeL costs £34.62, and the drive is usually under ten minutes. If you’re flying in for a trade show or conference, the board can show your company or event name, which helps a lot when several people from the same team arrive together. For a group of up to eight, the 8-seater to ExCeL is £45.69, less than £6 a head.
Hotels around Royal Victoria Dock and Canning Town are on the same short run. Enter the hotel address for its exact fare.
How London City Compares with the Other Airports
London City is the closest airport to central London, and it shows in the fares. From the same booker, a saloon to King’s Cross costs £58.49 from London City, compared with £81.76 from Luton. London City has a single runway beside the dock and mainly handles smaller jets on business and short European routes, so arrivals come in a steady stream rather than in big long-haul waves.
That’s also why a booked pickup works well here. You don’t need to find your way between terminals or follow long signposted routes, and your driver is a short walk from the arrivals door.
Taxi Rank, DLR or Pre-Booked Car?
There are three common ways out of London City Airport:
- The DLR station is joined to the terminal. It’s the cheapest way to Bank and Stratford if you’re travelling light, but you’ll often need another change to reach the West End.
- The taxi rank outside the terminal has black cabs on the meter, so the fare depends on traffic.
- A pre-booked car has a fixed price agreed in advance, a driver waiting inside with your name, and flight tracking if you land early or late.
For business travellers who need to claim the journey, a fixed fare also makes expenses simpler, because you know the cost before you fly.
Traffic from the Royal Docks
The drive times in our tables are midday estimates. Heading west from the airport, traffic usually builds through Limehouse and along the Embankment in the morning and evening rush. The short run to Canary Wharf and ExCeL is less affected. Because your fare is fixed when you book, a slow journey doesn’t cost you more, but if you have a meeting to get to, allow extra time in peak hours.
What to Include When You Book

Your booking confirmation arrives by email with the details of the pickup.
