Our fixed fare from Nottingham station to Heathrow Terminal 5 is £192 in a saloon car. The drive is about 128 miles, down the M1 and round the M25, and takes around 2 hours 20 minutes when traffic is light.

East Midlands Airport is far closer, so people booking this journey are usually heading long-haul or to a destination only Heathrow serves. The prices below are for the whole car, not per person, which matters a great deal if you are travelling as a family.

Executive 3 / 2 £235 £237 £78
MPV 6 / 4 £247 £249 £41
8-seater 8 / 8 £247 £249 £31
Executive minivan 8 / 8 £302 £304 £38

Fares from Nottingham station, taken from our booking system in October 2026. Pickups in West Bridgford come to £194 in a saloon. Any other address can be priced exactly in the booking form at the top of the page.

The last column is the one to look at if there are several of you. A family of four with long-haul cases will not fit a saloon’s two-case boot, so the real choice is the estate at £208 or the 8-seater at £247. Six people in the 8-seater pay about £41 each and have room for eight large cases.

Fixed price, any hour

The fare does not rise for early mornings, late nights or weekends. A pickup at 02:30 for a 07:00 departure costs exactly the same as one at lunchtime. Book your return at the same time and the total for both legs drops by 5%. When we collect you from home, the driver waits 5 minutes free, so be ready at the booked time.

Planning the drive

The M1 between Nottingham and the M25 is usually the predictable part. The time that varies is the last 20 or so miles on the M25 around the western side of London, which is one of the busiest stretches of motorway in the country. A 2 hour 20 minute drive at 3am can easily become 3 hours or more on a weekday morning.

As a rough guide, if your airline wants you at the terminal three hours before a long-haul departure:

  • Early flight (before 09:00): add 30 to 45 minutes of buffer to the 2 h 20 drive.
  • Midday or evening flight: add 60 to 90 minutes, because you will meet weekday traffic.

So for a 07:00 departure, aim to arrive by 04:00, which means leaving Nottingham at about 01:00. For a 13:00 departure, arrive by 10:00 and leave at about 06:30.

Drop-off at the terminal

Heathrow charges £7 every time a vehicle enters a terminal drop-off area, and that charge is already included in the fares above. Our Heathrow drop-off charge guide explains the rules, including how pick-ups work when you come home.

If you are unsure which terminal you need, it is on your booking confirmation. Terminal 5 is used mainly by British Airways; check with your airline before you travel. Our Heathrow Terminal 5 and Terminal 2 pages cover each terminal.

By car or by train?

By rail you would travel from Nottingham into London St Pancras and then cross London to Heathrow, changing at least once with your luggage. For one person travelling light at a convenient hour, that can work out cheaper. For a family, a group, or a departure before the first trains run, a car from your door to the terminal is simpler, and the per-person fares above often close much of the gap.

Flying home to Nottingham

The return leg is a similar distance and price. Your driver meets you inside the arrivals hall and walks you to the car in the terminal car park, as Heathrow does not allow pick-ups at the drop-off zones. We track your flight, and the first 60 minutes after it lands are free.
